Mental Health and Wellness Accomplishments 

As a Humanitarian I value leadership positions that encourage creativity, innovation, independent thinking and allows me to work outside the box. Creating the space for me to utilizing my clinical, administrative, and interpersonal skills for the growth and expansion of the organization and improvement of the services rendered to others. Below are high lights of some of my accomplishments as a Social Worker, Therapist, Administrator and  Restorative Justice Practitioner/Administrator that I am very proud of.


Mental Health and Wellness Accomplishments: 

  • Developed and established a Community School at a NYC Public High School to address the social and mental health needs of at risk youth.
  • Founded and established a school based outpatient mental health clinic licensed by NYS Office of Mental Health and Hygiene
  • Established the Wellness and Prevention division of a NYC public high school. Developed their clinical case management model and supervised and trained all social work, guidance and counseling staff
  • Developed & Managed several outpatient mental health clinics and youth development programs across NYC
  • Founded HYPE: Helping Young People Excel, Inc. a Therapeutic Recreation Program for teens in residential treatment
  • Established the Safe Space Counseling Program at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Junior  Scholars program in NYC.
  • Created mental health and wellness course curriculum for The Symposium for Issues Effecting Urban Youth and taught it to high school students. 

Restorative Justice Work & Accomplishments

  • Former School Social Worker and Director of Wellness and Preventive at Brooklyn Generation High School, in Brooklyn New York. Reduce Suspensions and other incidences by 50% in 2012
  • Experienced RJ Coordinator and RJ Practitioner appointed to implement the RJ Pilot program at a public  high school in Brooklyn New York. One of the founding members and District Level Coordinators recruited and hired by the NYC DOE, Office of Safety and Youth Development to support the expansion and implementation of Restorative Practices city wide.
  • Developed RJ Training Curriculum and Facilitate Citywide Professional development in Restorative Practices for District Administrators, School Administrators, Teachers, Guidance & Counseling staff, Paraprofessionals , Support Staff and School Safety Staff.
  • Created an RJ implementation self-assessment rubric "RJ Look Fors" used to aid in the development of a universal assessment tool for NYC public schools.
  • Created Restorative Practice Handbook for NYC Public Schools
  • Develop and facilitated RJ Training for 800 NYPD School Safety Officers of Brooklyn South Command
  • Created Summer school RJ Curriculum for students who were not promoted to help them take responsibility and set success goals
  • Designed restorative counseling curriculum for at Risk Teen Females to address depression and aggressive behavior.
  • Experienced Restorative Practices Training Facilitator for Tier I: Community Building Circles
